Why we made it
Keep the simplicity of the wall.
writers.cards is inspired by the index-card method used in the writers’ rooms behind Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul: story beats are made visible, movable, and shared before they become pages.
We are a small team of screenwriters who work this way. Physical cards make a room immediate and collaborative, but that ease usually disappears when the session ends. A photographed wall is hard to edit. Rebuilding every card in conventional software breaks the flow.
We made writers.cards as a quiet bridge between paper and screen. Build a screenplay outline digitally and bring it into the room, or scan physical story cards and keep writing online. Move cards together, preserve versions, and export the result without turning the process into project management.
The free board starts immediately. Paid plans add more projects and versions, unlimited cards, blue ink, and guest collaboration, starting at $3.99 a month.
